Electra was co-founded in 2015 by Fabrizio Martini, who came to the idea while working as a Principal Investigator on a NASA project. Electra creates active embedded battery pack controls, design simulation software, and data analysis to address the issues current e-mobility hardware presents. With the latest in Machine Learning and access to over 300 cell models for simulation, Electra is equipped to enable current battery pack technology for optimal range, performance, lifetime, and safety across applications and industries.

Fabrizio Martini, CEO and Co-Founder
Fabrizio Martini is an expert in energy storage technologies and has 12 years of prior experience in business and development in the ultracapacitor field. Before co-founding Electra in 2015, he was the Project Manager of several government-funded SBIRs for the DOE, DOD, and NASA managing over $10M. He has contributed to the accomplishment of six world records related to ultracapacitor technology and was in charge of the commercialization of the first-of-its-kind, high-temperature ultracapacitor for oil and gas and geothermal applications. Mr. Martini was the point of contact for several companies in the aerospace and defense field for the integration of ultracapacitor systems in their applications and he served as Principal Investigator of NASA SBIR program. He is author of 14 patents related to energy storage technologies.
Britany Straley, VP of Marketing and Operations
Britany Straley has 8 years of experience in strategy, marketing, and managing cross-functional teams in product development across a variety of sectors including medical devices, software, and sustainability. She holds an MBA from Boston University, concentrating particularly in strategy and innovation. She is a people-focused manager committed to driving growth and team performance and has worked to aid Electra's growth and success since 2017.

Baosen Zhang, Ph.D
Aritificial Intelligence Expert
Dr. Zhang is one of the world's leading experts in applying ML/AI technology to energy storage management practices. He is currently the Keith and Nancy Endowed Career Development Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington and focuses his research in control, optimization and learning applied to power systems and other cyberphysical systems.
Dr. Capiglia has been on the front lines of battery development for 20+ years in Japan, most notably working on Solid-State Battery development for Toyota as well as originally proposing the concept of SiO/Graphite based anode materials in 2004. He was awarded the STA Fellow in 1997 and is the ISPE Prize winner of 1998 for the development of gel polymer electrolytes.
Claudio Capliglia, Ph.D
Energy Storage Expert
Thomas Couture has been a dedicated member of the Electra team since 2016, overseeing the development of the EnPower Battery Design Optimization application, and leading engineering studies for electric sports car, motorcycle, and delivery truck companies. At Clarkson University, he co-founded the Formula SAE Electric racing team, led a project to transition town fleets to electric vehicles, and authored a thesis on dual-battery system design and controls.
Saurabh Bhasme previously worked as a Research Assistant on the NEXTCAR project sponsored by ARPA-E and General Motors while at Michigan Technological University receiving a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Controls. His knowledge and experience in hybrid and electric vehicles, paired with his AI engineering expertise, make him uniquely qualified to lead control algorithms development at Electra.
